Dr. Karim is an honours graduate of dentistry from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. While there, he received The American Academy of Periodontology Award and the Fixed Prosthodontics Award. In keeping with his commitment to social service, Dr. Karim also volunteered to provide dental services at the Weeneebayko General Hospital in Moose Factory and the children’s dental clinic at the University of Western Ontario.
After working in downtown Ottawa for a couple of years, Dr. Karim’s family chose to relocate to North Bay to be closer to his wife’s family and to raise their three children in a family-focused community. Outside of the office, Dr. Karim can often be found on the squash court, his mountain bike or the ski hill. As the team dentist for the North Bay Battalion, Dr. Karim looks forward to a Memorial Cup run!
Dr. Karim is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, and the North Bay and District Dental Society. Dr. Karim participates in ongoing continuing education in all aspects of dentistry, including dental implants, dental surgery, and Invisalign clear braces. Dr. Karim went into dentistry because he enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. With a naturally caring personality, Dr. Karim takes pride in taking the time to explain dentistry and strives to keep people relaxed in the dental chair.

We are happy to inform you that we are now able to once again safely provide dental care for you and your family. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.
Our office has always followed strict infection control protocols, and in order to keep us all protected during this pandemic, you will see new safety measures. This is how your appointments will go for now:
We will ask some screening questions before your appointment by phone, and you’ll be asked those same questions again two days prior and when you enter the office.
Call us when you arrive at the mall. You will be asked to wait in the main area of the mall or in your car. We will call you back when you can enter the reception area of our office. This is done so we can space people out in the clinic.
Upon entering, we will ask you to use a hand sanitizer. We will review your screening form, and your temperature will be taken.
Please wear a mask of any type before entering the office. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you.
You will be asked to do an antiseptic rinse prior to any oral examination.
To facilitate social distancing, only people receiving dental treatment or cleanings will be allowed in the office. If there are circumstances that require a guardian, that will be cleared prior by phone.
Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect.
You may be surprised that we’re wearing more protective gear – such as masks, face shields, gowns – than we normally do during your visit.
This seems like a lot, but we will guide you through the process. We look forward to seeing you again. If you have any questions, please let us know. To make an appointment, call our office at 705-472-2900.
Thank you for your patience and loyalty throughout this ordeal. We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back!
